Mr.-Thourn-Sinan

Mr. Thourn Sinan, Secretary COLT

For the past few years, I have been involved with COLT, now as Secretary. I am Sales Manager at Angkor Century Resort & Spa in Siem Reap, Cambodia. I want to help Cambodian children and I will tell you why:

The first 20 years of my life in Cambodia I only experienced, war, chaos and misery. Every day there was fighting, every day people were killed. Many children lost their parents or other family members, and I was no exception. I lost my father in 1975. Even after the Khmer Rouge were defeated, there was no peace in Cambodia. After the elections in 1997 riots broke out in the streets of Phom Penh. And again I lost a dear one, my older brother. Now, peace has finally arrived in Cambodia but I fear a new 'silent war': the HIV/AIDS epidemic.

Therefor I see it as my duty to help the poor children in my country. Through education, care and guidance we can give them a better future. From the deepest of my heart I belive we should support our children as much as we can. Only then these poor children can eventually help themselves.
