COLT - Course Beauty & Hairdressing

Cambodia is one of the poorest countries in the world, so why do we provide a course Beauty & Hairdressing?

Well, although the country is poor, at certain occasions and ceremonies girls and women are really dressing up. If you have the chance, watch a wedding ceremony. Not only the bride, but all female guests at the party wear their best dress, put up a lot of make-up and have all been to the hairdresser. With weddings, funerals and other ceremonies abound, there is a lot of demand for girls who can professionally work in beautifying and hairdressing. They can earn an honest income with work they like to do.

That's why we offer a course Beauty & Hairdressing. Targeted at older girls without education and no chance to enroll in the regular formal schooling system. This vocational training gives them the opportunity of earning their own income, either by applying at a beauty salon or by opening their own business.

The training is solid and serious, but understandably the girls also have a lot of fun during classes. They enjoy working on each others beauty.

Some of the girls who completed this vocational training have subsequently spread their skills and knowledge to others in their village. So, the impact of this training reaches even further!
